St. Louis Baby Photography: Baby Elliott

Ian and Gabi, Elliott's parents, asked if they could reserve me for a baby photography session with their three month old while they were in St. Louis visiting family. Ian and Gabi moved to California from St. Louis when they heard there was gold out West, then they had Elliott, and now they've gotten quite comfortable with the high cost of living and constant tremors in the state voted Most Likely to Fall Into the Ocean. I keep telling them they can move back immediately without incurring any shame, but so far I think my comments are being ignored.

Anyway, Elliott had some fantastic expressions during our brief visit together at Laumeier Sculpture Park:

It looks like we wore Elliott out!

It was great seeing you (and meeting Elliott), and we hope you make it back soon - permanently. In the meantime, feel free to market my services to the other gold miners!

St. Louis Wedding Photography: Emily and Micah

We had the honor of doing wedding photography for Emily and Micah's St. Louis wedding about a month ago. The bride and groom were both so nice to work with, and they have a truly fantastic group of friends. It was a joy to see all of the love surrounding them on their special day.

Here's the story of the day, told entirely by pictures.

As a side note, Rick from Sit and Spin DJ Service did a fantastic job with the music during the reception and he set the mood perfectly during the meal and dancing that followed. I highly recommend him if you're looking for a DJ.

Congratulations to Emily and Micah!

Grant's Farm Rehearsal Photography: Lacey and Rob

I recently photographed Lacey and Rob's Grant's Farm rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. There's a small chapel tucked back behind the main residence on the farm, and that's where the rehearsal took place:

The drinking and partying began a bit too early for some:

After the rehearsal, everyone wandered from the chapel and residence over to play with the many animals housed in the walkable area of the property, ride the carousel, and then take in an elephant show (featuring Bud the elephant).

Everyone, including the bride and groom, gradually made their way back to the Bauernhof for food and refreshments.

I heard that the wedding was fantastic, and I wish Lacey and Rob the best! Thanks to Cosmopolitan Events for setting this up.

Lafayette Square Maternity Photos: Sara and Andrew (and "Angus")

Sara and Andrew found me online while searching for a St. Louis photographer to take maternity photos; they're having a baby boy to whom they've given the code name "Angus" prior to his arrival and they wanted to get some professional photos taken. Sara wrote and said that an "urban maternity" style was what she wanted, but she'd like some shots in a park setting, too. "I envision something like an engagement photo session but with a really big belly," she added.

Sara picked Lafayette Square as our destination, and I learned on the shoot that she and Andrew actually had their wedding and reception at Sqwires. The whole area obviously has a special place in their hearts.

We had a lot of fun getting to know each other as we strolled (and waddled) around the neighborhood, ducked into doorways to hide from the harsh sun, and headed into Lafayette Park.

Here are some of my personal favorites from Sara and Andrew's maternity photo session:

We even found a place for a magical storybook photo in Lafayette Park so I gave it some storybook coloration:

I love this green door. How perfect is it?

Congrats to Sara and Andrew on "Angus's" pending arrival! I hope we get to hang out again soon!

St. Louis Newborn Photography: Baby Charlie

Megan and Rob contacted me about a newborn photography session of their baby, Charlie. He's brand new! Take a look:

While in utero, Megan and Rob called Charlie "Glo Worm". Appropriately, he has a Glo Worm stuffed animal to play with:

There were some dicey moments during our session...

...but Charlie quickly recovered with help from Mom and Dad:

Megan and Rob requested some shots of Charlie with his furry siblings:

Thanks again to Megan and Rob for having us out, and I hope I get to come back and take more pictures as Charlie grows up!
