Baby Ben

Watching a baby learn to crawl is an amazing thing.  We don't think about how hard it is to balance and what a miracle of coordination it takes to move forward until we see a little person trying to learn.  With these photos, Ben's parents will be able to remember this moment - the one just before Ben was able to run around the house and get into everything in sight.

At this age, Ben's world still revolves around Mommy and Daddy...

...and, of course, himself.

Ben's such a cutie!  We can't wait to watch him grow up, but not too fast.

St. Louis Family Photos - Owen Turns 1 1/2

Our son is about to turn one. So, we understand now more than ever before how quickly kids grow up and how important the memories captured in family photos are.  We loved getting a peek at what age one and a half looks likes when we took these photos of Owen and his family.  Owen had a blast playing in Forest Park with Mom and Dad and we simply caught the fun on camera.  We can't help but smile when we look at these shots.  Have a look:

Baby Kacey and Duke the Dog

There is nothing more peaceful than a sleeping baby - except perhaps, an eating baby.

But lest you imagine that Baby Kacey is always peaceful, there's this shot:

One thing that we know for sure is that Kacey already has a best friend, Duke!

We had a blast taking these family photos and look forward to watching Kacey grow!

St. Louis Baby Photos at Foam - Reis at 8 Months

We met Reis in his mama's belly.  Then, we took his newborn photos.  In these photos, he's eight months old and we think that this little man keeps getting cuter! We had a ball with Reis and his mom at Foam.

We know that he won't be sitting still the next time we take his photos, but we are ready to chase him around!

Yearly Family Photos

One of the best things about having family photos taken is looking back to see how your family grew and changed: babies became toddlers, kids, and then teens; hair was worn short, long, or disappeared; clothing ranged from bell bottoms to leggings or mini skirts.

As photographers, we get the joy of seeing these changes not just in our own families but also in the families that give us the privilege of taking their yearly family photos. We love the opportunity to get to know our clients over the years and to share in their life milestones.

Say No to Sears - St. Louis Family Photos of Addison, Spencer, Andrew, Rachel, and Michael

Say no to Sears!

There, I've said it.

Most couples wouldn't consider heading to Sears when looking for a wedding photographer. However, so many opt for Sears (and similar studio locations) to capture their children as they grow. Working with a professional photographer on location gives you a chance to record memories of your family being yourselves in a natural setting (no fake backdrops needed!).

We're glad Addison, Spencer, Andrew, and their parents Rachel and Michael said no to Sears and chose the backdrop of Longview Farm Park in Town and Country for their family photos. We'd never taken pictures there before and we loved the location. We'll be back!

St. Louis Family Photography: Reis and Family

Sara and Andrew (see their Lafayette Square maternity photo session if you don't remember them) had their baby on June 23. They decided to not name him "Angus" after all; instead, they chose Reis.

As a gift to Reis's grandmother, they asked me to shoot a family session at Tower Grove Park earlier this month when she and Reis's cousins were all in St. Louis visiting. We had a blast!
